Stories of support: Donation Drive 2.0

Donating Rabenhorst juices to local police station with Brisbane City Cr Kim Marx

“Danke” Donation Drive 2.0, our initiative to support those who are supporting others, was in planning the moment I finished our first donation drive of Rabenhorst juices 2 weeks earlier. And what a moving experience this second run was!

Humbling stories of support emerged and wonderful examples of caring: the only smiling face and kind words an elderly person may see each day; soothing the daily fears and worries of school kids and parents; protecting the community and first response support for the increasing number of victims of domestic violence since COVID-19 struck.

These are the stories and the people who don’t hit the tabloids.

I was privileged to visit a local Meals on Wheels branch, busy police beat and high school – saying our “Danke” (Thank You) to the volunteers and staff in a deliciously juicy Rabenhorst way.

At the end of the day it was so comforting to know that although we have long way to go until life, people, business and community get back to a “normality”, we can rely on these volunteers and staff each day to help get us all there.

Special big DANKE!

I am so very thankful for the wonderful suggestions, contacts and coordination by Brisbane City Councillor, Kim Marx, and her passionate team. Thank you for making this possible. Vielen Dank!
